I don’t know about you, but I love a good competition.  Especially when it involves me, proving just how great my favorite knife really is.  I am, of course, referring to Blade sports.   For those of you who don’t know, Blade sports are a fun, unique “Obstacle course” style competition designed to test your knife on a multitude of different levels.  Often times they are set up with several different tasks the competitor must complete using their selected knife.  The obstacles can include, cutting rope in a single swing, striking moving objects, slicing through a number of water bottles in one swing, hacking through wood and much more.

Depending on where you look, you will find a plethora of different rules.  Most often, the knifes will need to meet a certain requirement.  After all, it just wouldn’t be fair to send a Schrade Fixed Blade up against a Sebenza.  They are both fantastic knives to own, but they are totally different designs, made for different purposes.  So it’s important, if doing Blade sports, to keep things on an even playing field.

Recently our Youtube video crew challenged our management to a round of some pretty intense blade sports, and the results may surprise you.  The gauntlet included, slicing through different fruits with-out knocking them over, slicing through a length of rope in one swipe, cutting moving racquetballs, and much more.  Head over to our YouTube channel to see the full video, and maybe get some ideas for your own Blade sports.  The winners may surprise you.
